HEFEI (CHINA), Jan 17 (Bernama) -- The Tourism Ministry hopes that China will expedite the implementation of E-Visa to enable Chinese visitors to Malaysia to benefit from the facility.

Deputy Tourism Minister Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai said the E-Visa would be apt for China since the application for visas to Malaysia could only be done in four cities in China.

"The Malaysian Immigration Department has informed the Tourism Ministry that China has yet to decide on the date for a ministerial-level meeting on the E-Visa," he told media representatives and travel agency operators when asked on the implementation of E-Visa in China.

Also present were Malaysian Consul to Kunming Ayauf Bachi, Malaysian Tourism Consul to Guangzhou Suhaimi Shahruddin, Tourism Malaysia's promotion director for East Asia Markets Wan Zawawi Mohammed, Malaysia My Second Home Centre director Ku Lai Shevren and Anhui Tourism deputy director Zhang XuePing.

Lim, who is leading a delegation to China to promote Malaysia's tourism sector, said the Malaysian government also provided facilities like the multi-entry visa to attract more tourists to the country.
